The Canoe for Kids event took place on Saturday June 1st and a great day was had by all.
Thankfully the weather held out for the morning making it a very pleasant day. Overall the event raised in excess of $110,000 to support the Christie Lake summer camp and after school program.
A couple of IBISKA consultants hopped on board the IBISKA canoe this year to lend some additional muscle power and enthusiasm to our paddling crew.

Highlights of the day
- The IBISKA team was the top team fundraiser this year with over $11,000 raised! Our collective effort will enable at least 6 kids from disadvantaged families to enjoy 2 weeks at summer camp.
- For the 3rd year in a row, Cathy Loosley from IBISKA was the top individual fundraiser.
- This year again the IBISKA paddlers gave their all in the canoe race – thanks to some new crew members, our canoe came first on one of the races! Although we did not place overall in the race, we enjoyed a short moment of victory!
